A fun, classy and ultra-modern revamp for the Pacific Dawn

The 2000-guest Pacific Dawn, designed by the world-famous Italian architect Renzo Piano, is one of P&O's classiest cruise ships. Resembling a dolphin on the outside and even more impeccable on the inside, Brisbane cruisers of every age have loved the Pacific Dawn for more than 25 years.pacific dawn
In 2014, P&O added the exciting and popular Edge Adventure Park - Australia's largest adventure park at sea - to the 245 metre-long, three-storey Pacific Dawn, but you can also dance the night away in the Dome or try your luck in the casino.

And now it's getting even better.

P&O has announced a multi-million refit for the Brisbane-based Pacific Dawn will take place early next year, featuring a new and state-of-the-art kids-only waterpark with two waterslides and an interactive kids' play area.
But there will also be something for everybody to enjoy in the new Pacific Dawn, like the novel nine-outlet The Pantry food court, replacing the traditional buffet area, and an upgrade for the Dome nightclub.
The reinvented Pacific Dawn will enter drydock on February 2017, with the first lucky cruisers to enjoy all the new benefits only a few weeks later.
When it takes to the seas again, the Pacific Dawn will have a new look and features that have never been seen before on a Queensland-based superliner.
Many of the public spaces, like the atrium and Charlie's, will be redesigned and restyled in the striking contemporary look of popular sister ships Pacific Aria and Pacific Eden.

A marketplace of fresh food outlets

The Pantry will be the Pacific Dawn's new-concept take on the traditional cruise liner's buffet, also following hot on the heels of its success aboard the newer P&O ships.
From 2017, there will be a marketplace of fresh food outlets aboard the Pacific Dawn as well, where cruisers can sample cuisines from all around the world. One novel offering in The Pantry will be Nic and Toni's, a Mediterranean-inspired outlet, as well as the more casual poolside Grill.
The Orient, meanwhile, will burst with summer pub vibes, while the Promenade Bar will be the place to combine a cocktail with vibrant live music.

Party the night away on the Pacific Dawn

The Dome is where you party the night away aboard the Pacific Dawn, and the revamped version will feature more live music than ever.
"With the new waterpark, dining options and a refreshed interior design, we're creating a great new look for Pacific Dawn which will combine some fun innovations with the winning features of our existing ships," said Sture Myrmell, P&O Cruises' president.
"There's no question that Queenslanders love holidaying at sea with P&O, so we're very excited that our Brisbane guests will soon be able to enjoy a stylish new Pacific Dawn as part of their cruise holiday experience, alongside one of our latest ships, Pacific Aria," Myrmell added.
The Pacific Dawn upgrade is just part of a huge year of cruising in Queensland, with more than 100 cruises - more than ever - operating year-round from Brisbane.
