Brisbane Airport set to House Two New Hotels

Front desk of Accor HotelsBrisbane is experiencing a 7½ per cent growth in international tourism per annum. Following the G20 and with the Commonwealth Games being hosted in Queensland, it can only be naturally assumed that tourism will continue to expand. As tourism increases, Brisbane Airport is under pressure to expand with it. In 2020 a new runway will open that will double the airport's capacity.

Brisbane Airport

Brisbane Airport is a popular destination for connecting international flights. Although the distance from the airport to the CBD is less than 20 kilometres, it is common for a traveller to wish to stay within a close proximity to the airport. It is only natural that 5-star and premium budget-friendly accommodation must be built to accommodate the extra visitors.

Accor are up to the challenge. Accor have commenced work on a $150 million-dollar hotel development in the airport’s domestic terminal. The new Pullman Hotel and Hotel Ibis will complement the existing Novotel at the airport perfectly.
Visitors will still be able to have that ‘luxury’ experience of staying in a premium quality venue, without having to travel far to local attractions. Eagle Farm and Doomben Race Courses are nearby as are the popular Brisbane Entertainment Centre and exclusive shopping and dining precinct at the Portside Wharf and Cruise Terminal.

Pullman Hotel

The 5-star Pullman Hotel will be home to 132 full furnished modern guest rooms and suites. The hotel will also boast a contemporary and restaurant and 24-hour room service.
The restaurant will offer an array of excellent menu offerings and can seat up to 150 people. It is sure to be a popular dining destination for visitors who aren’t staying at the hotel but are seeking a 5-star dining experience.
The premium quality Pullman Hotel will offer a massage service and house a fully equipped gymnasium facility that will have picturesque views of the airport. Interior work is well and truly underway at the airport and the feedback could not be more positive.
The development of the Ibis Brisbane Airport will be just as revolutionary. The 3 ½ star hotel will house over 243 rooms.
Its shining light of a rooftop restaurant and bar will draw people in from all over Brisbane. Customers won’t go hungry at the Ibis and will be able to enjoy ample and quality food offerings at the 160-seat alfresco restaurant.

Accor Development

At the core of the Accor development sits the Brisbane Airport Conference and Meeting Centre. The 1735 square metre conference centre will house a spectacular 300-seat pillar ballroom, 4 executive boardrooms and 8 conference rooms.
The waiting list for those wishing to book in a touch of class to their conferences or work meetings is anticipated to fill up fast.
The Accor development has proven to give the Brisbane economy an extra boost. Approximately 1000 additional jobs have been created in the construction phase, with at least 300 ongoing jobs to remain after the opening of the development on October 1, 2017.
Accor have added another excellent jewel into the shining tourism crown that is Brisbane with their new development.
