Qantas Unveils New Lounge in Brisbane Airport
Qantas' domination of the aviation industry continues with its newest addition to its premium lounge offering opening in Brisbane Airport.
Qantas has opened a string of impressive flight facilities in recent months, and its Brisbane offering is its newest - and some would say greatest - lounge to date.
The airline's upgrade was a multi-million-dollar project which commenced several years ago and was completed, and unveiled, in Late March.
The lounge offering is 30% bigger than the previous
Qantas Lounge
and comprises two parts: a Domestic Business Lounge and Premium Lounge, which are connected by an escalator. The Lounges are conveniently located in the hub of Brisbane Domestic Airport.
Domestic Business Lounge
The Domestic Business Lounge was designed by renowned architect Woods Bagot, who drew on local materials and regional landscape as inspiration for the interiors, including a colour palette drawn from the Moreton Bay twilight.
Queensland Artist Jenna Lee created "Rhythm of Our Stories" for the space, an impressive glass sculpture which adorns the entranceway.
Light and airy, the Lounge provides an exceptional view of the runways and ample natural light.
From a practical perspective, the Lounge is impressive and spacious and easily accommodates 350 guests. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout, and connectivity is excellent.
There are a multitude of working spaces available with ports and charging cables for laptops, tablets, and pretty much any technology utilised by the modern business traveller.
From a culinary perspective, the Lounge continues to offer an exceptional food and beverage service. Tenured Qantas collaborator Neil Perry ("creative director of food") has painstakingly crafted a delicious seasonal menu and overseen the integration of all that's offered.
In addition to Perry's main menu, a standalone restaurant - The Cantina - delights with fresh and lively Mexican food made to order.
Also on offer is a full bar serving premium Australian wines, crafted cocktails and local beer. Vittoria coffee is available all day from the on-site barista, and those looking for hydration need search no further than non-alcoholic option "Quench", which serves a full range of infused water and other non-alcoholic beverages.
Meeting spaces can also be arranged to the effect that important meetings can take place directly in the comfort of the airport, so the short commute to nearby Brisbane may not even be necessary.
Premium Lounge
The Qantas Premium Lounge offers the same excellent service as the Business Lounge, with an exclusive check-in area limited to the elite frequent flyers among us, complete with a bag drop and private security screening.
The Premium Lounge is directly linked to the Domestic Business Lounge via an escalator and provides a lavish space in which to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the main airport or Business Lounge.
And the story doesn't end here - Qantas has plans to open a new and improved valet facility, which will further expedite and ameliorate the life of Brisbane's business travellers.
The Brisbane Domestic Business Lounge welcomes all those Qantas customers travelling Business Class, Platinum/Platinum One Frequent Flyers, and various other eligible passengers flying with Qantas partner airlines.
