The best places to stay in Bali
Bali is the sun-kissed destination of choice in Indonesia. It's a place of gorgeous beaches, delicious cuisine, stunning rice paddy fields and friendly Balinese people. Bali is also packed with amazing places to stay. With so much choice on the island, it can often be difficult to make a decision. Below we discuss some of the best places to stay in Bali.
Kuta
Kuta has often been associated with clubbing, drinking and generally a young crowd, and while there may be some truth to this, it's still a great destination for first-time visitors who want that "all-in-one" experience.
Kuta is famous for its popular surf beach - it oozes a laid-back vibe and is perfect for those wanting to learn how to surf, professional surfers and those who simply want to relax on the beach and indulge in a massage.
Kuta is also filled with many restaurants, all reasonably priced for a tourist hot-spot and it's got the largest range of different cuisines on offer, so is a perfect spot for picky eaters.
There are also lots of shopping opportunities in Kuta, making it a great place to pick up a souvenir. If you are looking for a destination in the "middle" to base yourself that's got all the amenities you need, then Kuta is a good choice. It's a place that leaves you within easy reach of other brilliant parts of the island too.
Legian
If you want an area that's touristy but not as "vibrant" as Kuta, then Legian makes a great alternative.
This area offers numerous resorts all varying in style and comfort to suit all budgets, lots of places to eat, great shops to buy cheap clothes, makeup and jewellery and of course, another great surf beach to surf, paddle board, or simply swim and relax! Legian is still a central location that makes day trips to other parts of the island easy.
Canggu
Canggu is the laid-back, tranquil and slightly more authentic area of Bali. It presents a perfect mix of traditional Balinese villages, beautiful rice paddies, with a wonderful laid-back vibe.
Canggu is filled with brilliant restaurants that specialise in the local cuisine and they are cheap as chips. There are also some wonderful coffee shops dotted along the main strip of restaurants, and a couple of great bars that play live music in the evenings.
It's a great spot for a family with access to Finns Recreation Club, famous for its ten-pin bowling, water splash park, and trampoline centre. Don't forget to visit Echo Beach in the evening to catch the famous Bali sunset and Canggu beach is perfect for more experienced surfers.
Sanur
Sanur is often considered the family-destination of Bali.
t's located on the East coast of the island and offers a quieter and more relaxed vibe. The beach path in Sanur is a perfect spot to hire a bike and go for a family bike ride.
There are lots of great restaurants, located on the beach front which offers stunning views in the evenings, and there are some great night markets to check out in the evenings. Sanur beach offers lots of great watersport activities including, jet skiing, parasailing, banana boating and more!
Uluwatu
Uluwatu is a surfers paradise.
If you want to see some of the best landscapes Bali has to offer, then this is the place for you. This area oozes natural beauty and there is no better place in all of Bali to catch the breath-taking sunset than at Uluwatu temple.
There is also the opportunity to watch the Kecack Fire Dance. Accommodation and restaurants are dotted around the area which means there is less of an over-crowded tourist vibe, which makes it a perfect spot to experience a true authentic Bali experience.
The whole island of Bali has something to offer absolutely everyone, and if you have the chance, try to take day-trips to other parts to get a true experience of the island. When you book your holiday to Bali, don't forget to check out airport parking in Brisbane with us for great prices.
