Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers Blooms in September
People travel to Brisbane to soak up the sun, kick back and enjoy the beautiful city and Queensland regional centres.
A key drawcard for tourists to visit Brisbane and its stunning regional centres in September is the famous Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.
Located less than a 2-hour drive from Brisbane, Toowoomba is home to stunning architecture, beautiful flora and fauna and of course, the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.
This annual event has been attracting people from all over the world since its inception 68 years ago. The Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers showcases gorgeous blooms, excellent Australian wines and a plethora of activities that can be enjoyed by everyone.
Running from Friday the 15th of September to Sunday the 24th of September in 2017, there are countless anticipated highlights for this year's Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers program including (but not limited to) the below.
As a central hub of the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, Queens Park will not disappoint.
The hub will be the finishing point for the stunning Grand Central Floral Parade, will host the Ergon Energy Food and Wine Festival and has 2 exciting playgrounds for the kids. The best part of Queens Park (and there are many) is that you are welcome to bring your furry four-legged friends along.
For those who enjoy stunning views and exciting music, there is no better place to visit than Picnic Point.
Throughout the Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers, Picnic Point will be home to a plethora of music performances including rock ‘n’ roll acts, jazz music and even country music to help get those hips swinging.
Perfect for families, the Laurel Bank Park will host an array of fantastic activities in 2017.
There will be Twilight zone tours, live music and even yoga and tai chi classes.
The Chronical Garden Competition
Any regular Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers visitor will know about the Chronical Garden Competition.
The event has grown from strength to strength since its launch at the inaugural carnival in 1950, and features over 100 immaculate gardens for visitors to trawl through and explore.
Not without its fun, Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers is amplifying its spectacular Sideshow Alley in 2017.
Featuring rides, shows, fireworks and games, and all with no entry fee, Sideshow Alley guarantees to keep patrons entertained for hours.
Pop up Cinema
Profound among the cultural enthusiasts, the Pop up cinema in Laurel Bank Park will showcase magical movies such as Trolls and the Lion King on Friday 22nd and Saturday the 23rd of September.
Best enjoyed with a picnic and a dazzling view of the stars, the Pop up cinema is a great night out not to be missed.
Toowoomba is the perfect setting for this stunning festival, and the impressive 2017 program highlights why the event is renowned across Australia.
With the finest food and wine, gala dinners and even magical train tours, the 2017 Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers truly has an event, activity or adventure for everyone.
